Tupelo woman jailed after shooting her boyfriend in the leg - earns $1 million bond

Madison Lee Miles, 24, is being held in Lee County Jail, charged with aggravated assault after she turned herself in Sunday for allegedly shooting a man on Lakeview Drive Saturday morning. The man, who has not been identified, was released from North Mississippi Medical Center after being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.

The man and his girlfriend were arguing in a yard in the 500 block of Lakeview when Miles showed up and shot him, according to a report from the Tupelo Police Department. The suspect was said to be about 5 feet tall, 100 pounds with red hair. Bond for the aggravated assault with a weapon charge was set at $1 million by a Tupelo municipal judge.

Officers were initially called to the NMMC emergency room where the shooting victim had been brought. They went to the shooting scene and found evidence of the crime, as well as securing preliminary statements indicating Miles’ involvement.

As of Wednesday, Miles remained in the Lee County Jail; according to inmate records she is actually 5’1” tall, 130 pounds with brown hair and is Caucasian.
