Shannon shooter still sought

Julian Gill

As of press time Wednesday morning, the Shannon Police Department is still looking for a shooter.

On Jan. 3, officers responded to the Majik Wash-N-Ride located on Romie Hill Avenue, to a call for shots fired.

They found Brandon Moore who had been shot in the leg. According to Moore, Julian Gill had followed his vehicle to the car wash, opened his driver’s side door and shot him in a leg.

The aggravated assault occurred because of an argument the two had a month earlier. Police did not say what the argument was about.

Moore was treated at the North Mississippi Medical Center for a gunshot wound and released.

Shannon Police Chief Desiree Kersher released a statement asking for the public’s help in locating Gill. The Shannon Police Department is located at 122 Broad St, Shannon and their phone is (662) 767-8369.
