The Tupelo Police Department (TPD) have charged a Shannon man with the murder of a Tupelo man.
The TPD say Sandarius Isby, 21 allegedly shot and killed Toyrriius Lockridge, 27 on Monday afternoon at an apartment at The Oaks Apartments. The Oaks are located at 508 Lumpkin Avenue in Tupelo.
According to TPD spokesman Capt. Chuck McDougald the police were called to the emergency room at North Mississippi Medical Center about 3:30 p.m. Lockridge had already died.
Police detained Isby at the emergency room. This was not Isby’s first brush with the law, he was booked in March of 2019 and charged with domestic violence.
Prior to that, in Aug. 2018, he was arrested by the Verona Police Department for possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
In this case, officials say no further suspects are being sought. Isby remains in the Lee County Jail. His bond had not been set as of press time Wednesday, May 1.
