Little Steven rocks Soulfire live chronicling world tour

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul — Soulfire Live!

I’ve been a fan of Little Steven for a long, long time — as a solo artist with the Disciples of Soul, writing key songs and performing with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and of course, as a member of Springsteen’s e-street band.

My friends at Big Hassle Media recently sent me the two-disc blu ray set of Soulfire Live! It’s a epic collection featuring live versions from his previously released CD, Soulfire.

Most of it was recorded at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club and features guest appearances from Paul McCartney, Springsteen, Richie Sambora, Peter Wolf and Moby Grape’s Jerry Miller.

Steven Van Zandt, 49, grew up in Middletown Township, in New Jersey. I’m sure these days Steven has to pinch himself. He grew up watching The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

At 13, his favorite Beatle was George Harrison, little did he know he’d later become friends with McCartney and Ringo Star.

Soulfire Live would be the perfect start to make any fan of rock ‘n’ roll to become a fan of Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. It’s one of the greatest musical blu rays I’ve ever seen and that’s saying something.
